Waterfront Session for BSA Lifeguard at Camp Woodland
Early June
The waterfront session for our BSA Lifeguard course is held all day Saturday at Camp Woodland. Scouts and Scouters
receive intensive instruction in canoeing, rowboat rescue and waterfront administration and leadership. We place
extra emphasis on preparing the participants for leading canoe treks since a large percent of the BSA Lifeguards
in this area use their BSA Lifeguard for this. The course consists of nine pool sessions, four classroom
sessions, a Healthcare Provider CPR course, and an all day waterfront session. Participants 16 or over are certivied in BSA Paddle Craft Safety.
